The Las Vegas Raiders have locked up their franchise quarterback.
On Wednesday, the Raiders agreed on a three-year contract extension with Derek Carr that is worth $121.5 million. The extension ties Carr to the Raiders until 2025:
Carr is coming off a season where he threw for 4,804 passing yards along with 23 touchdowns to 14 interceptions. He led the Raiders to the playoffs after a tumultuous season which included his star wide receiver, Henry Ruggs, getting released by the team after a DUI that ended with Ruggs killing someone.
Carr also lost his head coach, Jon Gruden, in the middle of the season after old e-mails emerged with Gruden using derogatory language.
This past offseason the Raiders hired Josh McDaniels to be their head coach and acquired star wide receiver Davante Adams to fill a huge void.
