Rams’ Sean McVay Literally Started Laughing At The Patriots’ Surprise First Round Pick

New England’s first-round NFL Draft pick on Thursday surprised a lot of people including the Los Angeles Rams brass.

With the 29th pick acquired via trade, the Patriots selected Tennessee-Chattanooga guard Cole Strange. A two-star prospect coming out of high school who developed into a four-year college starter, Strange has a great story and is definitely a legitimate NFL prospect.

It’s just that most people thought Strange would be a day 2 or day 3 pick with many NFL Draft experts giving Strange a a third-round grade.

The Rams, who didn’t have a first round pick thanks to the Matthew Stafford trade, watched the draft like the rest of us. General manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay were speaking with reporters when they saw Bill Belichick’s selection and they literally started laughing out loud when they heard Strange’s name called:
