Jordan Love Breaks Silence On Aaron Rodgers Getting A Contract Extension With Packers This Offseason

When the Green Bay Packers shockingly selected Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, it started the clock on Aaron Rodgers eventually being replaced.

Unfortunately for Jordan Love, that clock still hasn’t expired and not only does Aaron Rodgers remain the team’s starting quarterback but he received a 3-year, $150 million contract extension from the Packers.

On Tuesday, Love spoke to the media about his current situation in Green Bay and shared his thoughts on Rodgers’ getting a new deal:

“I was  super happy for Aaron,” Love told reporters. “Obviously, the dude deserves it [with] what he’s done the last two years. But personally for me, it just means that I’m about to be a backup again — for this year. And that’s all I can control right now. So I was happy for Aaron, but at the same time it’s like, ‘ah.’ You know?”

In six career appearances, Love has 411 passing yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. Jordan Love is set to enter his third year of the four-year rookie contract he signed in 2020.
