The Las Vegas Raiders have waived their 2021 first-round pick offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood after just one season:
The Raiders selected Leatherwood with the 17th overall pick in the 2021 Draft. The move cost the Raiders’ $7.9 million against their salary cap. The Alabama product was drafted by the previous regime and was clearly on the outs with the new regime of Josh McDaniels and Dave Zeigler.
The Raiders reportedly tried to trade Leatherwood to every single team in the NFL and got “32 nos” according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:
