Former 49ers TE Faces Life In Prison After Being Accused Of Burning and Burying Corpse of Missing Ex-Girlfriend

The former NFL player who was charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend over a year ago after she vanished is said to have allegedly burned her body after killing her, according to reports.

Kevin Ware Jr., a former tight end for the San Francisco 49ers and Washington Redskins, was out on bail for an unrelated charge when 29-year-old Taylor Pomaski went missing in April of 2021.

Newly released court documents cited by KPRC-TV allege that Ware Jr. killed Pomaski and then burned her corpse, burying the remains.

A body wasn’t found until December 2021 and was not positively identified as Pomaski until April 29, 2022.

“He is charged with murder and tampering with evidence, specifically a corpse, in the death of Taylor Pomaski, the district attorney’s office said.

Pomaski, 29, had been missing for more than seven months before her remains were found. She had last been seen at a party at her home in the Houston suburb of Spring on April 25, 2021, and her remains were found in north Harris County on Dec. 10, officials have said.”

Ware Jr. was arrested by U.S. Marshals in June for alleged bond violations and was eventually indicted by a Harris County grand jury in July for murder and tampering with evidence over Pomaski’s death.

He faces anywhere from 15 years to life in prison.
