REPORT: Colts Will Bench Sam Ehlinger And Go Back To Matt Ryan If Things “Go Poorly”

The Indianapolis Colts are a hot mess and it’s hard to think they aren’t tanking.

A few weeks ago, the Colts benched Matt Ryan with a sign of evaluating their roster for the future. The team started second-year QB Sam Ehlinger and things haven’t exactly improved offensively.

In the midst of all that, the team fired Frank Reich and hired Jeff Saturday and now the team might consider going back to Matt Ryan if things don’t improve:

If things go poorly today vs. the Raiders, wouldn’t be surprised if Jeff Saturday turns to Matt Ryan at QB. Heard Ryan got some 1st-team reps in practice this week, and while Saturday said Sam Ehlinger will start, he said Friday “this isn’t a closed competition by any stretch.”
