Jags’ Safety Andrew Wingard Rips Urban Meyer While Praising Trevor Lawrence After Win vs Ravens

The Jacksonville Jaguars aren’t a good football team right and will most likely miss the playoffs, but something is different about this Jags team. They are actually building something for the future and a lot of that is due to the work of Doug Pederson who’s helped develop former first overall pick Trevor Lawrence.

Following the Jags’ 28-27 victory over the Baltimore Ravens, Jaguars safety Andrew Wingard was heaping praise for Lawrence and Pederson while also pointing out how horrible the situation was under Urban Meyer.

“I’m so happy for Trevor because he had to deal with Urban Meyer last year…” Wingard said. “I would die for Doug Pederson, I swear. I love the guy.”

Wingard is an undrafted rookie from Wyoming and signed with the Jaguars in 2019. He was apart of the tumultuous season under Urban Meyer that saw the team go 2-11 and dealt with a number of off the field issues involving their head coach.
