REPORT: Ex-Vikings HC Mike Zimmer Could Become Deion Sanders’ Defensive Coordinator At Colorado

Deion Sanders is working to put together a great coaching staff at Colorado and one prominent former NFL head coach could be on that staff.

According to Johnathan Cisowski of KLAS in Las Vegas, former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer could become the defensive coordinator on Sanders’ staff at Colorado.

Zimmer was apart of the Jackson State coaching staff with Sanders this past season and helped the Tigers post a 12-0 record and earn a berth in the Celebration Bowl on Dec. 17 against North Carolina Central. Before that, Zimmer and Sanders had built a relationship dating back to Sanders’ playing days with the Dallas Cowboys where Zimmer was the defensive backs coach.

The 66-year-old Zimmer was fired as the Vikings coach after eight seasons in 2021.
