The NFL Sunday Ticket has found a new home.
According to Joe Flint of the Wall Street Journal, YouTube is in “advance talks” with the National Football League for the exclusive rights to the Sunday Ticket
Sunday Ticket is a subscription streaming package that allows fans to watch NFL games that are out of market.
Last week, it was reported that Amazon and Google, which owns YouTube, where the final two streaming services in the running for the rights to Sunday ticket after Apple dropped out of the race because it didn’t see the “logic” in adding the package.
The Sunday Ticket package will be available on YouTube TV and YouTube Premium channels when the deal is done. The price will likely be similar to the current one that DirecTV charges.
John Ourand of Sports Business Journal reports that YouTube will pay $2.5 billion per year for the package.
