Cowboys’ Sam Williams Taken To Hospital After Being Involved In A Car Accident

Dallas Cowboys rookie defensive end Sam Williams was transported to the hospital and later released after being involved in a car accident on Thursday afternoon near the team’s practice facility in Frisco, Texas.

The team is aware of the accident and will determine whether or not Williams will play on Saturday against the Philadelphia Eagles after Friday’s practice:

The other vehicle's driver was also transported to hospital as a precaution, the police spokesperson said. Police are investigating whether the speed at which Sam Williams was traveling on Preston Road was factor. Police have determined that neither drugs nor alcohol a factor.

Cowboys are aware of the vehicle collision involving DE Sam Williams and monitoring the situation, a team spokesperson said. His status for Saturday's game against the Eagles will be updated as appropriate.
