Las Vegas Raiders Benching QB Derek Carr

There has been much talk about whether Derek Carr would remain the future of the Las Vegas Raiders beyond this season, and we now seemingly have our answer.

Derek Carr tossed three interceptions in the Raiders Week 16 loss, and that has earned him a spot on the bench.

The team announced that they are benching their QB in favor of Jarrett Stidham, who will be making his first NFL start against the 49ers come Sunday – not the ideal defense for a QB who has only thrown 61 passes in the NFL to be facing off against.

Raiders are benching Derek Carr and turning to Jarrett Stidham as their new starting QB.

Carr has thrown a league-leading 14 interceptions— including three Saturday night during a 13-10 loss to the Steelers.

The Raiders likely know they want to move on from Carr, and are protecting their trade asset from injury as well as seeing what they have in Stidham over the final two games with their playoff changes already nixed.

Carr will be inactive.
