Buccaneers Are Releasing RB Leonard Fournette

The Tampa Buccaneers are set to be making some wholesale changes to their roster after Tom Brady announced his retirement and one of their first moves will be releasing RB Leonard Fournette, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero:

Fournette had been with the Buccaneers since 2020 after he was acquired in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars. After two good season in Tampa, Fournette saw his role diminish in 2022 thanks to the emergence of third round pick Rachaad White last season. With White’s star rising, and Fournette’s high salary cap hit and injury history, this was a move that always made plenty of sense for Tampa Bay.
