NFL Insider Believes Aaron Rodgers & Packers “Are Navigating Towards A Break-Up”

Despite emerging from his “darkness retreat”, Aaron Rodgers still has everybody, including the Green Bay Packers in the dark about what he’s going to do next.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst met with reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine and said that he’s yet to hear from Rodgers about his future, even going as far as saying that he hasn’t communicated much with Rodgers since the season ended.

ESPN’s Jeff Darlington believes that the lack of communication between Rodgers and the Packers indicates that the two sides are going through a breakup behind the scenes:

This situation between Rodgers and the Packers, both publicly and privately, is feeling more like two sides trying to navigate the perceptions of a breakup rather than two sides trying to find a way to continue forward together. Very interesting two weeks ahead.

The 39-year-old could decide to retire, return to the Packers or request a trade. He’s stated that he wouldn’t keep the team as hostages as he weighs his options, but as each day passes by, it seems like that’s exactly what he’s doing.
