Jessie Bates III Is Leaving The Bengals To Sign The 4th Largest Contract Ever For A Safety With The Falcons

The Cincinnati Bengals lost one of their key players on defense.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Jessie Bates III is leaving the Cincinnati Bengals to sign a four-year deal worth $64.02 million with the Atlanta Falcons.

The Bengals selected Bates in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The team placed the franchise tag on him last offseason but failed to come to an agreement on a long term extension. The more telling part that Bates’ time in Cincy was coming to an end was when the team drafted his eventual replacement – Dax Hill – in the first round.

The news came not long after the Bengals los fellow starting safety, Von Bell to the Carolina Panthers.
