The 2023 NFL Draft is less than 24 hours away, and to the surprise of many and delight of Baltimore sports fans, Lamar Jackson is still a Raven.
Despite the Ravens placing the non-exclusive franchise tag on their MVP QB, allowing him to test the waters and see if he could fetch a deal worth more than Baltimore was willing to match, a slew of teams publicly stated they were out on Jackson, who remains as the Ravens QB.
It’s not become known that the 49ers were one of those teams who explored a trade for Jackson, which paired with the weapons and defense San Fran has in a much weaker NFC, would have easily catapulted them to the Super Bowl favorite.
The 49ers notably made it to the NFL Divisional Round of last season’s playoffs with their third stringer going into the season in Brock Purdy under center.
