REPORT: Malik Willis Could Still Get Cut By Titans Despite ‘Outperforming’ Will Levis

Tennessee Titans quarterback Malik Willis has reportedly outperformed rookie Will Levis during the team’s offseason activities but despite that, his roster spot is in jeopardy, according to a report from Titans team reporter Jim Wyatt.

Wyatt acknowledged that Willis has displayed significant improvement compared to his rookie season. As a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Willis was not deemed ready for the demands of the professional league.

Willis was thrown into action after Ryan Tannehill suffered an injury last season but struggled to sustain any sort of success. In three games he started, Willis failed to throw for at least 100 yards while throwing three interceptions and zero touchdowns during that span.

That led the Titans to bring in journeyman Josh Dodds as they were in the hunt for the AFC South.

Despite Willis’ struggles during his rookie season, the former Liberty product still has time to develop into a capable quarterback in this league. however, the Titans decision to draft Will Levis in the second round (No. 33 overall), a clear message has been sent that the Titans don’t envision Willis as a long term solution for their quarterback position.
