NFL Calls Patriots-Packers Game After Scary Hit Forces CB Isaiah Bolden To Leave On Stretcher

Last season, the NFL experienced something that they never want to happen again with an injury so bad, it forced a game to be called – and it’s already happened before the new season has started.

During Saturday night’s preseason Week 2 game between the Patriots and Packers, New England cornerback Isaiah Bolden collided with a teammate in a scary helmet-to-helmet hit that left Bolden motionless on the turf.

With 10:29 left on the clock in the 4th, both teams dropped to a knee after medical personnel rushed to Bolden, who was placed on a backboard and onto a stretcher and carted off the field.

After discussion between the league and teams, the game was called.

The Patriots released a statement that says Bolden “had feeling in all his extremities, but has been taken to a local hospital for further tests and observation.”

Bolden will be held overnight in a Green Bay hospital for further evaluation.
