Patriots Cut Every QB On Their Roster Other Than Mac Jones

To the surprise of many fans, the Patriots released second string QB Bailey Zappe Tuesday as part of their roster cuts.

While it caught many fans in New England off guard, the instant reaction was that Bill Belichick was paving the way for Malik Cunningham to take the reigns as the backup QB after dazzling Pats fans during some moments this preseason.

Only problem?

Bill cut him too less than an hour later.

Mac Jones is now the only remaining QB left on the Patriots active roster.

Zappe, 24, played in three preseason games with New England, going 31-50, averaging 84.3 yards per game.

Cunningham, also 24, completed three of his six passes for 19 yards, rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown on six carries.

As a WR, Cunningham caught only one pass on nine targets.
