Steelers RB Jaylen Warren Was Fined Nearly His Entire Game Check For Hit That Wasn’t Even Penalized vs Browns

The NFL has to chill with these fines.

The majority of Pittsburgh Steelers’ running back Jaylen Warren’s paycheck from Week 2 will probably go back to the NFL after Tom Peliserro of NFL Network reported that the second-year running back was fined $48,333 for illegal use of his helmet during the Steelers’ Monday Night Football Game victory over the Cleveland Browns.

What makes this fine even more puzzling is Warren wasn’t even flagged on the play:

Warren, who was signed as an undrafted rookie in 2022, is making $874,000 in 2023 and if you do the math, that’s about $51,411 per game, which means Warren will probably take home just a few thousands dollars (if that) from Monday’s game.

Warren is off to a solid start to the season as a receiver with 9 catches for 78 yards. On the ground, Warren has tallied 26 yards on 9 carries as he backups Najee Harris on the depth chart.
