Broncos Trade Randy Gregory To San Francisco 49ers A Day After Announcing They Were Releasing Him

The Denver Broncos were planning on releasing Randy Gregory but instead of found a new home for the pass rusher.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Broncos agreed to send Gregory to the San Francisco 49ers with a seventh-round pick in 2024. In Return, Denver will get the 49ers’ 2024 sixth-round pick.

The Broncos are also set to pay Gregory just about $10 million for the rest of the season while the 49ers will pay him the veteran minimum.

Gregory also has three years left on his contract, but none of it is guaranteed.

This means that if Gregory doesn’t play well for the 49ers, they can just release him and not have to deal with the guaranteed money.

Gregory’s five-year $70 million deal with the Broncos didn’t work out, which is why they decided to move on. 

He’ll now get a fresh start on one of the best defenses in the NFL. It’s also a plus that he’ll be playing opposite of Nick Bosa – who’s one of the best defensive players int he NFL.
