The Indianapolis Colts are going to be without their rookie signal-caller Anthony Richardson for at least the next four weeks.

The Colts announced that they put the No. 4 overall pick on injured reserve on Wednesday morning, keeping him out of action for at least the next four games.

Richardson injured his throwing shoulder during the Colts win over the Tennessee Titans last Sunday. He was later diagnosed with a Grade 3 sprain of the AC joint.

Richardson was replaced by backup QB Gardner Minshew against the Titans and will start in his place over the next four weeks. Indianapolis also signed former Vikings third-round pick Kellen Mond to its practice squad in order to add a backup to the backup.

The earliest Richardson can return to the field is Nov. 12 against the New England Patriots, but with a bye the following week, it’s possible the Colts wait until the end of November to bring him back.
