REPORT: Raiders Firing Josh McDaniels And Dave Ziegler Will Cost Mark Davis An Insane Amount Of Money

As it turns out, being an incompetent owner can be pretty pricey.

Raiders owner Mark Davis’ decision to fire general manager Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels is the right decision, but it’s a very costly decision.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Davis’ decision to clean house will cost him an insane $85 million dollars. Schefter adds that some of the costs will be “defrayed by offsets and mitigation” but the firings was an expensive move.

The Raiders also reworked the contracts of Antonio Pierce, who is now the interim head coach and Champ Kelly, who’s now the interim general manager for the remainder of the season.

After Las Vegas lost 26-14 to the Lions on Monday night, Davis personally apologized to a group of Raiders players for wasting their season, Schefter reported, and “confided in a small group of people within the organization” that it was time to make a change.

The Raiders will host the New York Giants on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. eastern time at Allegiant Stadium.
