Diontae Johnson’s time in Pittsburgh was close to ending and this might be the nail in the coffin.
During Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Johnson failed to secure a touchdown catch. It got worse when he gave no effort on a play where the Steelers fumbled the ball. Johnson simply watched the ball bounce right in front of him and made no attempt to recover the fumble.
The lack-of-effort looks even worse after a report surfaced Saturday stating that Johnson got into a heated locker room altercation with Minkah Fitzpatrick.
The Steelers, 5-5, currently trail the Bengals, who are starting a backup quarterback, 7-3.
