REPORT: NFL Insider Predicts 7-10 Head Coaches Will Be Fired After The Season

On Monday, the Carolina Panthers fired head coach Frank Reich after a 1-10 start to the 2023 season. Reich joins Josh McDaniels, who was fired earlier this month by the Las Vegas Raiders, as the two coaches that were let go so far and according to Adam Schefter, this is just the beginning.

Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday, Schefter said he believed there could be anywhere from 7 to 10 head coaching changes before next season and that he would “take the over.”

“There’s always somebody winning and always somebody losing,” Schefter said. “And the people that are losing are getting criticized, and coming under scrutiny, and people are getting unhappy. And you get an owner coming out of locker rooms, dropping F-bombs and saying the next morning, ‘Hey, Coach, you’re out.’ Which is something he’s been thinking of doing for weeks now anyway.”

There are a number of teams that are underachieving this season. Leading the way is Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots, who sit at an embarrassing 2-9. The Los Angeles Chargers are 4-7 despite having one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Justin Herbert. Other teams that seem headed towards a coaching change include the Chicago Bears (Matt Eberfleus), Washington Commanders (Ron Rivera), New Orleans Saints (Dennis Allen) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Todd Bowles).
