A fan-recorded video of Kadarius Toney’s costly offside penalty during the Chiefs-Bills game has emerged, and it shows that Toney did point over to the referee while lining up.
In the video, you see the Chiefs break the huddle, Toney to run over to his spot on the line of scrimmage, point at the official and turns away quickly, so it’s unclear whether the official signaled anything back or if Toney saw him if he did.
Toney did indeed lineup offsides.
Here’s the video:
The offsides flag was very costly as it nullified a 49-yard touchdown pass that would’ve given the Chiefs a lead late in the fourth quarter. Instead, KC turned that possession over on downs before the Bills ran out the clock.
The loss was the Chiefs third loss in four weeks. They are now just one game up on the Denver Broncos (7-6) but are fortunate to be playing the team with the worst record in the AFC next week in the New England Patriots.
