D.J. Moore has heard the noise about the Chicago Bears potentially draft a new quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft and is here to tell you, that would be the wrong decision.
Speaking with reporters following the Bears’ 20-17 loss to the Cleveland Browns, in which the Bears blew a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, Moore reiterates his support for Justin Fields and says drafting a QB would be a mistake.
“Ya’ll asked me that last week? Somebody asked me that last week, I’m still like, bro, we’re all seeing this like, what makes him [Fields] not the quarterback for the Chicago Bears right now?” Moore asks via Marquee Sports. “I get you all got everybody coming out; what like two of them? I don’t think they’re better than Justin.”
Moore is talking about Caleb Williams and Drake Maye, the consensus top quarterbacks in the upcoming Draft. With the Bears likely to have the top pick thanks tot he Carolina Panthers, the Bears are going to be in position to have their choice of the two.
Fields had an up-and-down day on Sunday, completing 19-of-40 passes for 166 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions that came on a Hail Mary attempt that was nearly caught by Darnell Mooney.
We’ll see if Bears general manager Ryan Poles agrees with Moore’s sentiment.
