REPORT: Devin White Was Inactive Because He Refused For Buccaneers On Sunday vs Packers

The Buccaneers won a big game on Sunday at Lambeau Field over the Packers but the topic of conversation postgame was the absence of linebacker Devin White.

According Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the Bucs coaching staff decided to start K.J. Britt over White ahead of Sunday’s game against the Packers but told the former Pro Bowler he would still play.

However when the news was brought to him, White told the team he “couldn’t go” at all and was a healthy scratch.

When asked about White’s absence after the 34-20 win, Here’s what head coach Todd Bowles had to say:

That’s probably a question for him but I’m sure he’d say his foot was sore. But he told me he couldn’t go so we played the guys we had to play.

Per Stroud: “It’s another unsettling episode for White and one that may not sit well with Bowles or the front office.”

In 11 games this season, White has logged 69 tackles, two sacks and an interception.
