Steelers’ Jaylen Warren Calls Out George Pickens For Not Blocking: “I Would’ve Blocked For Him”

Pittsburgh Steelers George Pickens has come under scrutiny this week after a clip that went viral showed him having zero interest in blocking for Jaylen Warren on a play that would’ve been a touchdown had Pickens blocked the Colts defender.

Pickens didn’t exactly himself when asked about the clip, saying he didn’t want to block for Warren because he didn’t want to get injured.

When speaking with reporters on Thursday, Jaylen Warren was asked about Pickens’ explanation and didn’t exactly stick up for his teammate.

“I see where he’s coming from,” Warren said, via the Post-Gazette. “It is what it is. At the end of the day, he was doing what he thought was best for him.”

Known for his honestly, Warren provided just that when asked as a follow up if he took issue with Pickens’ actions. “Some people play the game differently,” Warren replied. “If I was in that position I would have blocked for him. But we play differently, so …”

The Steelers season has spiraled as they’ve lost three straight games to teams that have a combined record of 14-28. They sit at 7-7 and will play the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. on NBC/Peacock.
