REPORT: Jim Harbaugh Set To Meet With Los Angeles Chargers For Head Coaching Job

The Jim Harbaugh sweepstakes have begun and first up seems to be the odds on favorite to land the Michigan Wolverines head coach.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Jim Harbaugh is set to meet with the Los Angeles Chargers for their head-coaching vacancy.

The Chargers are looking for a new coach and general manager after Brandon Staley and Tom Telesco were fired on Dec. 15, a day after a 63-21 loss in Las Vegas to the Raiders.

Harbaugh, who previously coached the San Francisco 49ers, has ties to the Chargers and the Spanos family that owns the team. Harbaugh played for the Bolts in 1999 and 2000, before retiring after the 2001 season.

That is Harbaugh’s first meeting with an NFL team and there’s expected to be more unless the Chargers are able to close the deal before hand.
