Stephen A Smith’s Reaction To Mike McCarthy Saying Cowboys Are A ‘Championship Program’ Going Viral

Mike McCarthy thinks the Dallas Cowboys are “championship program” despite the fact that the franchise hasn’t won a Super Bowl in over two decades.

On Wednesday, the Dallas Cowboys announced that McCarthy would return as their head coach for the 2024 season and during his end of season press conference, McCarthy said the team get over that hump. He thinks they know how to win but that it has to translate over into the playoffs.

“My message would be this: We have established a championship program, it’s just not the world championship yet,” McCarthy said. “We know how to win, we know how to train to win, we have the right people, but we have not crossed the threshold of winning playoff games and it’s extremely disappointing to be sitting here talking about it. I know how to win and we will get over that threshold. I have total confidence in it and that’s why I’m standing here today.”

Stephen A. Smith, who is the No. 1 Cowboys hater in America, was shocked by this statement.

“What?! This is not funny,” Smith said. “That man just sat in front of a microphone, with cameras from national television rolling, and said we have a championship program. That’s what he said. A championship program but in the same breath he said we just haven’t figured out how to win playoff games yet. Excuse me?! Did I miss something that championships are won without winning playoff games?!”

The Cowboys season ended last week following an embarrassing 48-32 loss to the Green Bay Packers. They trailed 48-16 with 6 minutes remaining before Packers head coach Matt LaFleur pulled his starters from the game.

McCarthy and the Cowboys will have to wait until next season to try and prove Stephen A and the rest of the Cowboys doubters wrong.
