REPORT: Bill Belichick Turned Down Both Cowboys And Eagles Head Coaching Job

After the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles were embarrassed in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs, many speculated that both teams would fire the respective head coaches – Mike McCarthy (Dallas) and Nick Sirianni (Philadelphia) – and purse Bill Belichick, who parted ways with the New England Patriots after 24 seasons.

But both the Eagles and Cowboys are shockingly sticking with their guys and Belichick is likely going to find himself in Atlanta. But according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, the Cowboys and Eagles are sticking with their guy because its was Belichick who rejected them.

“Although Belichick to Atlanta is not done yet, there’s buzz around the league that it’s moving in that direction,” ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio reported Thursday. “As one league source explained it, Belichick is believed to be done with ‘big-market media,’ making him more inclined to go to a place like Atlanta than Dallas or Philadelphia.

Belichick won 6 Super Bowls during his tenure in New England, the most by any head coach in NFL history and currently sits third with 302 regular season wins, only behind George Halas (318) and Don Shula (328).

We’ll see if Atlanta can seal the deal and get Belichick to A-town.
