Falcons Trade QB Desmond Ridder To Cardinals For WR Mondale Moore

With the Atlanta Falcons signing Kirk Cousins, the team has decided to move on from their former starting quarterback while adding help for their new one.

Atlanta is sending former third-round pick Desmond Ridder to the Arizona Cardinals one exchange for Mondale Moore, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reports.

Ridder, 24, entered the 2023 season as the Falcons starter but struggled to hold onto that job and ended up being benched for Taylor Heinicke. In two years with Atlanta, Ridder went 8-9 in 17 starts, completing 64 percent of his passes for 3,544 yards, 14 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Meanwhile, Moore, 23, finished his third season in Arizona with 187 touches for 1,450 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns in three years.
