NFL Insider Predicts The Commanders Will Select Jayden Daniels With No. 2 Overall Pick In 2024 Draft

The Chicago Bears are widely considered to select Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

What the Washington Commanders plan to do at No. 2 remains a mystery. Some say they will select a quarterback or consider trading the pick to a team that is looking to move up to select a quarterback.

But ESPN’s Adam Schefter thinks he knows where the Commanders are leaning with the No. 2 pick

On his latest podcast, the ESPN insider said “it’s safe to assume” the Bears will select Caleb Williams at No. 1 and at No. 2, it’s becoming “hard for me” to see Washington passing on LSU QB Jayden Daniels.

“I think the signs continue to point to Jayden Daniels being the second overall pick,” Schefter said. “Seems like he’s popular in the scouting community. Seems like he would bring a lot of the attributes that the Commanders would like.”

If Washington goes that route, it would give the Patriots an opportunity to select North Carolina’s Drake Maye at No. 3 or the option of getting a massive return in a trade for a team looking to move up.

Schefter added that the Las Vegas Raiders also are heavily interested in Jayden Daniels but don’t see a pathway for them to move all the way from No. 13 to into the top 3 to select the reigning Heisman Trophy winner.

The NFL Draft is set to begin on April 25th.
