The Pittsburgh Steelers may be on the verge of pulling off a blockbuster trade.
NFL Insider Benjamin Allbright set the NFL Twitter/X world into a firestorm after tweeting the eyeballs emoji and a screen shot of a text with an unknown recipient, discussing the Steelers trying to trade for 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly looking to acquire a wide receiver this offseason and have explored the market for Aiyuk throughout the offseason.
The 26-year-old made headlines on Saturday by unfollowing the 49ers on Instagram, sparking more rumors of him potentially leaving San Francisco.
Aiyuk has 3,931 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns in four years, including back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons.
The Steelers’ receiving core included George Pickens, Calvin Austin, Van Jefferson and Quez Watkins. They’ve scouted plenty of names in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, but all signs seem to indicate that they are trying to acquire a star wide receiver.
