Olu Fashanu’s Mom Would Not Let His Girlfriend Near Him After He Was Drafted By Jets

The New York Jets filed a big need on Thursday night, moving back one spot in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings and still being able to draft offensive tackle Olu Fashanu.

The team picked the former Penn State offensive tackle with the 11th overall pick and after Olu heard his name called, he celebrated with his entire family. Fashanu’s mom was seated between the player and his girlfriend when his name was called, and his other half could barely get a piece of him as Mama kept her well out of reach.

Fashanu was one of the highest-rated offensive linemen going into the draft and was tipped to potentially go in the first round last year before he chose to play another year in college.

He hasn’t allowed a sack in over 650 pass-blocking snaps over the past two seasons, and Aaron Rodgers should be one of the first members of the Jets to welcome him to the team, especially after how his debut ended in 2023.
