The Denver Broncos were mentioned as one of the several teams that could trade up in the first round of the NFL Draft. Apparently that was all a smokescreen, according to Broncos head coach Sean Payton.
Payton claims he tried to convince other teams that Denver was moving up. In reality, the Broncos were comfortable taking Bo Nix with the 12th pick.
During the team’s press conference, Payton told reporters, “I was actively involved in trying to pretend we were moving forward.”
The Broncos selected Bo Nix with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
