REPORT: Saquon Barkley’s Father Arrested For Possession Of Loaded Gun In Bronx, NY

Saquon Barkley’s father, Alibay Barkley, was arrested in New York City on Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

The New York City Police Department told TMZ Sports that Barkley, 55, was pulled over while driving in the Bronx around 7 p.m. because of “obstructed license plates that did not match the vehicle.” Police found a loaded gun inside the car and said that the car was unregistered.

According to ABC 7 New York, “Barkley told the officers that carries a gun in the Bronx to protect himself. When asked about the car, investigators said he said his son had bought it for him.”

TMZ Sports added that Barkley was brought to a nearby jail and faces several charges, including criminal possession of a weapon. He was released early Thursday morning.

Saquon Barkley signed with the Eagles this offseason on a three-year, $37.75 million year after spending his first six seasons with the New York Giants.
