Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson revealed that he was sedated for seven hours so four artists could complete this massive tattoo.
Tattoo artist No Pain By Ganga posted the tattoo on Instagram last week.
Richardson talked about the experience of getting the tattoo Monday on the Pat McAfee Show.
“People aren’t gonna like the fact that I went to sleep, but I’ve been getting tattoos since was 13, so I did my time in going through pain,” Richardson said (skip ahead to the 8:30 mark of the video below):
The tattoo artist has also done work on other NFL stars including Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Miami Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., per Boyd.
Richardson missed the majority of his rookie season with a shoulder injury and is ready to start year 2. He has returned to throwing for the Colts with no restrictions, according to The Athletic’s James Boyd. He is expected to get the Week 1 start against C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans.
Richardson is hoping his return to the Colts will also mark the team’s return to playoff contention. He will be looking to lead Indianapolis toward the team’s first postseason in four years, and eventually their first Super Bowl since 2006, when his second pro season kicks off this fall.
