REPORT: Bears Signed DJ Moore To A Four-Year, $110 Million Extension, Largest In Franchise History

D.J. Moore and the Chicago Bears agreed to a four-year, $110 million contract extension, according to multiple reports.

The deal guarantees $82.6 million to the six-year veteran and is the largest contract the Bears have given out in franchise history. Only Justin Jefferson and A.J. Brown have received more with their recent extensions. The $110 million value is the fifth-highest among receivers behind Justin Jefferson, Davate Adams, Tyreek Hill and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

With an average annual salary of $27.5 million, Moore ranks seventh among wide receivers in the NFL.

The 27-year-old Moore was acquired by the Bears from the Carolina Panthers in a deal that included the 2023 No. 1 overall pick which the Panthers used on Bryce Young. He was the Panthers first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, selected 24th overall out of Maryland.

His first season in Chicago last year was the best of his career. He caught 96 passes for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns. The yardage total was the four-highest for a receiver in Bears history. He has also played in all 17 games in three consecutive years.

The Bears used the No. 1 overall pick in last April’s draft on USC QB Caleb Williams and then followed it up by selecting Rome Odunze with the No. 9 pick. The also acquired WR Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers. The expectations are high for the Chicago Bears, despite drafting a rookie quarterback.
