Malik Willis is getting a fresh start.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Titans are trading Malik Willis to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for 2025 7th round draft pick.
Willis will be the new backup to starter Jordan Love.
The Titans drafted Willis in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft as a backup to Ryan Tannehill and potential future starter. He appeared in eight games as a rookie including three starts when Tannehill got hurt.
The following year the Titans drafted Will Levis in 2023 and installed him as the starter midseason after another Tannehill injury.
The Titans didn’t re-sign Tannehill at the conclusion of his contract, and he remains a free agent with the regular season approaching. Levis is the starter in Tennessee, and the Titans signed Mason Rudolph in the offseason, making Willis expendable.
