A poster that is popping up around the city of Philadelphia allege that the Eagles have officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to become the next President of the United States.
The Eagles have now released a statement debunking that endorsement, calling the ads ‘counterfeit.’
The posters have been spotted throughout the city in multiple locations and it shows VP Harris holding a football while wearing a black Eagles jersey and their signature green helmet. The poster is captioned “Kamala official candidate of the Philadelphia Eagles” and has the URL philadelphiaeagles.com/vote printed underneath the caption.
The Eagles released a statement saying they didn’t cosign the creation, calling the street art, “counterfeit political ads” that they’re working to remove.
Matt Cassidy, who works with Philadelphia’s Office of Transportation and Infrastructure Systems, told CBS News Philadelphia the city is looking at this as a vandalism incident. The city is working closely with the intersections trying to have the ads taken down by Tuesday since they were illegally posted.
It remains unclear where the ads came from but one thing is certain, it didn’t come from the Philadelphia Eagles.
