The Buffalo Bills faced Stefon Diggs as an opponent for the first time since trading the wide receiver to the Houston Texans last April. It was a rough afternoon for Allen, who struggled to connect with any of his receivers.
Allen had one of the statistically worst games of his entire career, completing just 30% of his passes for 131 yards and one touchdown. As for Diggs, he registered 6 receptions for 82 yards. The Bills lost the game, 23-20, on a walk-off 59-yard field goal from Ka’imi Fairbairn.
After the game, Allen sought out Diggs for a postgame handshake, however, they barely had anything to say to one another.
Despite what both sides say, there were clear issues between Allen and Diggs and it played a large role in why the Bills parted ways with the gifted receiver.
