During Saturday’s Miami-Georgia Tech game, GA Tech Trevion Cooley was injured after having his facemask grabbed and then proceeding to take a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit.
The hit occurred during the third quarter when Cooley was trying to get past Miami’s defense when a defender grabbed his facemask, he was able to escape before getting absolutely destroyed by Hurricanes defensive back Ahmad Moten Sr.
The hit was so violent, Cooley’s helmet flew off.
After taking time to review the play, the officials ejected Moten for targeting. His teammates tried hyping him up as he left the field.
As for Cooley, he managed to get back on his feet and walk back to the sideline. If his helmet fell off a second earlier, he could’ve suffered a really serious injury. Thankfully, that’s not the case.
