Jon Gruden has landed himself a new gig.
Three years after resigning as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders over leaked emails in which he used racist and homophobic language, Gruden joins Barstool Sports.
The news of Gruden’s new job comes amid rumors of him potential returning to the sidelines as an NFL coach.
Former Jets quarterback Boomer Esiason said on his WFAN morning show on Wednesday that he believed Gruden would soon be making a return to an NFL sideline.
“I can confirm that he definitely wants to get back in, 100 percent,” Esiason said. “I can also confirm — and I believe this to be true, this is my opinion after speaking to at least two different that are involved in coaching searches and things of that nature — that there are teams that are interested in him. And if it’s not year, it’s next year. But he’s coming back, he’s definitely coming back.”
The Jets and Saints have already fired their coaches with several other openings likely to become available after the season.
