A disappointing season in San Francisco isn’t altering the 49ers fans for their future.
The 49ers still plan to sign third-year quarterback Brock Purdy to a long-term contract extension this offseason, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on NFL GameDay Morning.
The 25-year-old Purdy is in his third season of the four-year rookie deal he signed after being selected by the 49ers with the final pick – No. 262 – in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Purdy has led the 49ers to two straight NFC Championship Game appearances in 2022 and 2023 and a Super Bowl berth last year.
Purdy has completed 65.7 percent of his pass attempts for 2,707 yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions through 11 games this season. He also has rushed for 271 yards and four touchdowns.
The 49ers (5-7) sit in last place in the NFC West.
