Mike Vrabel is coming home.
According to NFL NEtwork’s Tim Pelissero, the New England Patriots and Mike Vrabel’s representatives are in “contract talks” for Vrabel to become the team’s next head coach.
Pelissero’s colleague Ian Rapoport said Vrabel is “believed to be the overwhelming favorite” for the Pats:
Vrabel spent eight seasons in New England as a player. He was a three-time Super Bowl champion there and is a member of the franchise’s Hall of Fame.
The Patriots fired Jerod Mayo after one season and finished 4-13 on the season.
