Veteran free agent wide receiver Kadarius Toney has been arrested on allegations that he strangled a woman, according to TMZ Sports.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, Toney is accused of putting his hands on a woman’s throat following a dispute at a residence in Georgia on Jan. 14. A warrant for Toney’s arrest was issued the following day, and he was arrested on Feb. 6 on charges of aggravated assault, strangulation and one count of obstructing/harassing 911 calls.
Toney allegedly squeezed the woman’s neck hard enough that she could not breathe, and the attack left red marks on her neck and hemorrhaging in her eyes. Toney also took the woman’s phone, according to the police report, and prevented her from calling 911 during the altercation.
Toney was released from jail after posting bond, which was set at $25,000 for each charge.
Toney is a two-time Super Bowl champion, winning Super Bowls LVII and LVIII with the Kansas City Chiefs. He began his career with the New York Giants in 2021 but was traded midseason in 2022 to KC.
After being released by the Chiefs, Toney spent time with the Cleveland Browns in 2024 but was eventually released on December 10th and is currently a free agent.
