The controversial play first made popular by the Philadelphia Eagles en route to another Super Bowl victory last season, was sent to a vote for the the second straight year to determine its future at a league meeting in Minneapolis Wednesday.
The final tally? 22 in favor of the ban, 10 not. The league requires 24 votes for a ban.
The Green Bay Packers submitted their proposal to ban the play earlier this offseason.
