Former Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver Dez Bryant has never shied away from speaking his mind no matter how controversial it might be.
Earlier this week, Bryant sounded off on the National Football League’s Pride Month campaign.
Teams around the league showed their support for the LGBTQ+ community by changing their avatars on social media to include rainbow colors. Soon after, a video from 2021 resurfaced on social media where the league campaigned for the LGBTQ+ community.
That’s when Dez Bryant responded.
“These are wild statements to make,” Bryant wrote on X. “Excuse my silliness. I’m going to proudly tell my boys football is none of these things. I have nothing against Gays, but this is far from right.”
Bryant is not wrong for feeling the way he does. After all, it’s a sentiment that many Americans across the country feel when it comes to Pride Month. As for the NFL, it doesn’t seem to be bothered by the pushback it’s getting and continues to push to make the NFL an inclusive environment for all.
