The Tennessee Titans are releasing former first-round pick wide receiver Treylon Burks with an injured designation after he broke his collarbone during the Titans’ training camp practice last weekend.
Tennessee signed free agent wide receiver Ramel Keyton in a corresponding move.
The injury is expected to sideline Burks into the early part of the regular season and likely beyond that. The latest injury adds to what has been a disaster start to Burks’ career. HHe tore his ACL in an October 2023 practice, which kept him sidelined into last season and forced him to miss all but five games.
Burks has yet to play more than 11 games in a single season and has been on the field for a combined 15 games over the past two years. He also has just 10 starts in that span and 16 total starts since he was drafted in 2022.
If you remember, the Titans drafted Burks with the 18th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the pick they acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for wide receiver A.J. Brown. Since joining the Eagles, Brown has since tallied three straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons and won Super Bowl 59 with the Eagles.
For the Titans, they continue to search for Brown’s replacement even though this could’ve all been avoided had they just paid Brown in 2022 instead of trading him.
